Sewing: red blouse with raglan sleeves

inspiration inspiration

First I did my research and found few pictures for inspiration. I want the blouse looks like the white model above!

Soo today is sewing post, right?
I started to work on the 80s style blouse for which I found inspiration the other day on Pinterest. I did some sketches and pattern but so far the blouse came out.. Hm, not exactly as I imagined. from the black and white picture you can see how the cut should look like – raglan sleeves and deep neck. But I think I went for too elegant and draggy fabric, what do you think? As I am so obsessed with details, I might redo it. Actually, I will redo it for sure! Take a sneak peak on how far I am with the blouse. I throw away the original sketches. I might do new one and add it later for you guys to see which cut I wanted to go for – maybe you can give me little help with pattern then? :)

Have a great day!

PS: This text was in absolutely hurry but at least… Express my thoughts about the blouse:D Honestly, I really have to work on the blouse over my days off. Not hundred percent happy with the result!

What happened last week I/II

what happened last week

Okay, January is over. How you are you guys keeping with your New Years resolutions? So far for me, everything is going well, I am just a bit worried how I will manage to do my blog together with school and work and gym. I am getting more and more excited as my induction is getting closer, yayy!

Last week my best friend Gabi came over to London and we had amazing time together.. i really needed something like this, just get drunk, have fun and talk with her! Thank you Gabi for being here:))

Today is also my second day on low-carb diet. Understand, by meaning “diet” I mean lifestyle, not trying to do some short term non sense diet. I have to say I feel amazing, a bit light headed though:D. But it should be fine during few days. I am doing a little blog post about it, will publish next week probably!

I also have to recommend you again the Dishoom restaurant. On Wednesday I went there with my friend Katka and the food is amazing! I was really about to stay with grilled lamb choice, but the smell of the cheddar Naan bread was too tempting. Poor will power!

I think that would be it, what happened last week and what I was up to. How are you guys?

PS: I was just thinking, am I going to be the oldest one at the fashion course I am going to study? :D Or is more people in my age starting their career by studying etc?

Today is simpler than usual

black coloured outfit black coloured outfit black coloured outfit black coloured outfit

Hey guys!
Today I wanted to create outfit just in black colours – sometimes I am in a mood for that (when I eat too much food or simply don’t feel like hundred percent in my body). But I love the effect it has got on your silhouette – it looks immediately slimmer, very elegant and together with high heels very chic. I picked these black chunky boots from H&M which I got on sale. Honestly, H&M for sale items, shoes especially, is amazing. I am very happy with the result – oversized funnel neck jumper from the same brand like shoes, high waisted jeans from Levis and.. that’s it! Today I keep it even simpler than usual! What do you think about it? What is your favourite color for being in comfort zone? :)

I was also curious if some of you knows how to make jeans smaller. I recently lost some weight over my hips and legs and my slim jeans are not slim anymore. Ohh, how lazy am I to open the jeans and make them smaller! :P Any tips how to do it least painfully? Also which strenght of the needles would you recommend for sewing denim? Many thanks guys!

Sewing: Oversized camel coat

oversized coat oversized coat oversized coat oversized coat oversized coat

I think it is just the very best time to show you the oversized coat I’ve made. Finally, I have finished all the button holes.. I mean the one actually, as I decided to leave it quite open. And still it is more my Juki’s job than mine, I just put the thread through!
However, I can (and am, so much!) proud of myself. First lined coat since high school. Where you guys usually go for inspiration for your stuff you make? I browse Pinterest all the time, it is really massive source of inspiration. (Please find there my weirdly named boards or interesting inspirational ideas).
So as you can see, the coat is fully lined, with wide collar, widely placed sleeves, pockets in seams and one retro button. I love that piece, I found it on Shepherd’s bush market at one tiny shop where you could find all these retro accessories for sewing, pieces for making beautiful Indian  dresses etc. I really love these cultures and traditional fashion which they wear in countries like India. I already work on other designs with some details.. But about this later! :)

Now take a look on the coat and its progress. I started from basic construction of loose – fitted coat where I created deeper armhole for baggy sleeves. Then just marked desired pockets, created collar and started with cutting and sewing. I have to say, it wasn’t easy, the wool behaved kind of weird way for which I wasn’t ready:) (Also forgot how powerful ironing can be!).

What happened last week I/I

last week

Hey guys!
So I’ve decided that Monday will be kind of random post about what happened last week, what caught my eye and stuff like this. And ever since I am obsessed with fashion, it might be mostly just never ending wish lists :)

First exciting information: I’ve been accepted for the L4 course of buying and merchandising at Fashion Retail Academy. I am so excited! It will be amazing be back at school, learn new things and open up new career paths. Also meet many interesting people and create important contacts. To be honest, I was about to write “and try to have best grades from whole class” but since high school I’ve learned that.. it is simply stupid. The amazing grades didn’t get me anywhere to be honest, everything is about your personality, experience and skills!
Back to my school – I am starting in the end of February!:) Anybody else is going to study there?

Yesterday Daniil told me about my birthday present. We are going to Monza, to see F1 race!!! I’ve never been the kind of person doing bucket lists, but if I was, this would be No.1!!! I am very excited. Also was just thinking, how amazing Daniil is, that he is arranging all the time these surprises..
Obviously we are going to make road trip from it to see all the cities and eat lots of amazing (paleo) food. But I might have pizza if will have to. (This is lie, I will want to). Especially, I cannot wait to see the very beautiful Tuscany!

We also started organising our holidays plans but have to wait how it will be with my school and everything. So far we know we want to go to Paris, Rio De Janeiro, New York for shopping weekend, Maldives and Island. And much more, but have to really work on proper schedule:)

I hope that this month is so far good for you as well and all of you are working on the goals you’ve set for yourself! (And tell me about them, I am curious!)

Lots of love xx Lucie
