New year, new start, old(er) me

new year, new start, old(er) me new year, new start, old(er) me

Happy New Year guys!
We made it through first week of 2018, yay!
How did you spend your last day of the year? I couldn’t ask for better company – we were in Prague with Daniil and my best friends. Funny story – we got super drunk right before New Year’s Eve, so on that day we took it easy. We watched fireworks and had a champagne but it was really calm after the night before. But honestly, sometimes I feel like still going to the parties, still be dressing up and dance – it just that friends around are settling down or are too far away. From this reason (and many more) I miss my Lukas – my soulmate from Prague. With him, it always felt like “the party is over but we keep on going and having fun”. He is not here with us anymore but will never goes away from my heart.

Did you give yourself any new year’s resolutions? I… kind of did. I hate these sayings “starting by Monday / New Year / Next month but I feel like it was enough of messing around and now, as I have everything what I need, I should really do my best and make my dreams coming true. So this year, I will have for sure the best form I’ve ever had (or will be on may way towards it), will have fun with my blog and Instagram and mainly have fun when travelling with Daniil. I am also super happy that finally I do job what I love so will be working my ass off to progress and learn new things.

So that was quick update after the quiet months here!
In my pictures we were just after lunch at Smoke Stak – cool place to go for brisket or ribs. I loved the ribs and the beetroot with goat cheese and hazelnuts. The brisket was “so so”. I just put on my oversized jumper from Weekday and Levis trousers. Reason is simple – I just got fat and super stretchy trousers with massive hoodie cover it well :D .

The ultimate guide for your Bahamas trip: Part 1

Bahamas and its amazing beaches

Swimming with the sharks, feeding sting rays and enjoying crystal clear water.
Those were the main reasons why me and Daniil wanted to go to Bahamas, for many people destination seen as honeymoon treat.
Bahamas are a group of about 700 islands so planning of your trip is the key.We decided to visit three following islands: Nassau, Staniel Cay and Great Exuma.

Day 1 and 2: Nassau
Whether you travel with your partner, family or friends and are looking for island with plenty of shops, resorts and things to do, Nassau is perfect for you. There is well known hotel Atlantis with its water park and its slide going through water full of sharks. You can take a walk in the city centre and visit galleries or museums, for rum lovers there is a John Watling’s distillery and of course you should at least try Bahamian typical sweet: rum cake. I really didn’t find out how they do it but imagine nice sponge cake, just.. marinated / completely soaked in rum, followed by the sweetest taste you can dream about. By the way, by this time I have decided to break my sugar free rule and tried the cake. It made me so full I didn’t eat anything for the rest of the day.
(Ps: If you are food lover as I am, keep reading, there will be more.)
At Nassau, the most beautiful beach was Cabbage beach and Cable beach. I would recommend Cabbage beach even though it is a bit further (ehm, if you are not staying at Atlantis). It was definitely worth it!

Day 3, 4 and 5: Staniel Cay
I was really excited to move a bit further from Nassau as Staniel Cay and Exumas are much less commercial and busy.
Staniel Cay can seem like not really exciting place to go but the opposite is the truth. It is actually really good strategical spot where to stay – from there you can either rent a boat as we did, or just join many of locally offered tours around. And this is what you came for: feeding pigs and Iguanas or swim with sharks.
For getting around it is amazing to rent a golf car – we totally fell in love with this way of transport! We went to do our groceries, to the Yacht club for dinner or just simply getting around. Talking about getting your food: I think that the island’s motto should be sarcastic “Well, welcome to Bahamas” as this is response from many people answering your surprised face when questioning about opening hours of local grocery shop. It can get really irregular and depends on God knows what when the stores are open – especially out of the touristic season.
At Staniel Cay you should go to the Yacht club where local fishermen come everyday with their catch of the day. You can watch them clean the fish and feed the sharks there. You can also enjoy the view on many beautiful yachts parked there: We were lucky to see amazing yacht called Usher (honestly, I thought it’s his. If I had yacht this, it would be definitely called “Lucie” or “It is mine.).

Day 6, 7 and 8: Great Exuma
Apart from the other beautiful beaches there, you should definitely go to Chat N’ Chill caffe: Seeing the sting rays and be able to feed them was something I will never ever forget. I was sitting in the white sand on the shallow part of the ocean and they just came around, so beautiful and calm. I have to say, I did have some respect! They are still wild animals and you should be careful when being around them. But definitely, don’t be scared and try to feed them. The feeling is crazy.
On the opposite side from Chat N’ Chill cafe, there is a beach, the ocean side. It has got amazing view and a bit wilder water. Plus, it is a bit tricky there. You have to go there in the morning when the water is lower, because you have to cross a little part where water is and has got a bit current. And the water gets higher. On the pictures you can see what we had to do because the water went up :).
Another beautiful beach you can find in the Bahamas is the one at Tropic of Cancer.Located at 23 26N 75 35W, the beach is named after the meridian line that defines the northern extent of the tropics and crosses right through it. (Okay, I copied this sentence somewhere from Google!). But the beach was probably the most beautiful place I have ever been.

On our last day we went back to Nassau and then got connecting flight to Atlanta and then back to London.
I didn’t want to make this post too long so in few days you can expect another one, about food, accommodation and travel around Bahamas!

Summer is over but I am back

summer is over

Okay, so it’s been almost three hours for which I was sitting here, going through September issue (talking about Vogue, of course!), watching silly series and thinking how to start again with my blog. Yep, it’s been more than 7 months since I wrote my last post. And it was so positive, you know, saying all these things about me starting the school and being organised, about having everything scheduled etc.

But I feel like life sometimes doesn’t want to work this way and is doing whatever it wants. And that some bullshit happen.

I really don’t know how to start so let’s just take it first things first.
In February I started my diploma course at Fashion Retail Academy. I was so excited but also a bit scared! You know, when I am entering new environment, it is really difficult for me to talk to the people, in foreign language even more ( – they for sure think that I am a complete idiot, the girl who doesn’t know what is she talking about.) But anyway, I gained confidence at school. Confidence in myself, confidence in my skills and I also found what I love to do and what I would love to do for my career.

During this crazy period I didn’t have time for anything – all these assignments effected my blog, doing outfits, going to the gym. And what it affected most was my healthy lifestyle. I remember that moment in March when I just burned out (like a fire cracker, believe me) and started eating crap. Like real crap. I must admit that I broke my sugar-free lifestyle and sinned and sinned and sinned.
Thanks to the full school timetable I couldn’t work as much as I wanted and couldn’t afford any shopping or whatsoever. For 7 months! That is really crazy for somebody like me. I know that I am being drama queen here but that is the thing: Once you get use to your own money and the luxury that you can afford to buy something every month, it is obviously hard to give it up.
I also had to change my job to have even less hours and so have more time for working on school projects.
I didn’t have time to see and visit my family, to travel or at least have some free time for my boyfriend.

Was it all worth it?

So much. I think this was the first time when I recognised that hard work pays of. I had the opportunity to work for Gucci,  recently I was offered a fantastic job of buyer’s admin assistant, I got a distinction from my final project at school, I have met amazing people and gained so much valuable knowledge and skills..
I don’t want to say that I am finally happy because I think that happiness should be unconditional. But I can say that I found partly my inner piece. That I don’t worry anymore about my career path because I set it up. That my job is not stressing me out anymore and I am not coming home tired. That I am starting again with sugar free lifestyle and am so excited about it:)

Okay guys, that’s probably it for tonight, I will see you here next week!

Every day, there is something going on

_K3A9080 _K3A9083 _K3A9089

Good evening guys!
What you up to? I found that in England there is every day some special day – pineapple day, tequila day and yesterday it was pancake day. It was just good reason for Daniil to have pancakes. Again. Honestly, if you would ask some of our flatmates what they usually see me being cooking for Daniil, they would probably tell you: ”pancakes, burgers, pizza”. Well, I love his passion for food:-)).  I know you might say I am not the best support for his healthy life style, but I am such a feeder, as he would say:D.

So yesterday pancake day and for me carrot soup with turmeric and chicken. Meanwhile my dinner I was working on pattern of trousers for Amanda – my colleague from work. Lately I get more excited for making clothes for others than me. It just motivates me more! So I cannot wait once I will be done as both of us see the result and she will be (hopefully) happy about it.

Yesterday was also pay day (my favourite day:D) And I did my budget for the month. I feel ashamed but I have to admit I am not good in saving money. I just like to spend it, either on my clothes, or on Daniil or good food or some experiences. Baaad baad Lucina. I know, I really want to work on this and start to do some savings! Any tips how to save up more money?
Anyway, I have done already some shopping and might show it to you on Sunday in random post, what I bought. If it arrives on time.
Obviously I have to be careful also because of school as I am part-timer now! Yay! I love retail but by working part time I have more time for everything!

How do you guys handle party-time job and school? Or you prefer just study and concentrate on internships? By the time this post is posted, I am probably sitting at school and with hungry face catching every word! :)
Also ehm, see my outfit! That’s the main reason for today’s post! I love the top by & other stories store, honestly.. I ordered more things, all of them amazing quality and the prices are not bad. Combined with leggings and sneakers – very comfortable outfit – I usually wear these combinations when I go shopping, to easily take everything off :D.

Sometimes it's better to don't do it

Good evening babes!
Last three days were simply mess. I have a feeling that my brain simply got tired and I felt so lazy, so I didn’t do anything (yep, at least workout done!) and sticked to comfortable food. Gosh, I felt and I still do, so weird. And let’s face it – so fat :D. It was still sugar free though but definitely not carb free and definitely high fat. Now I am just asking myself: “Was it really worth it?”. Definitely no. Was it tasty? Definitely YES! :D. But today after I woke up feeling so hangover (I didn’t drink or anything) I was just like “Okay, let’s stop this sh*it! I had enough of overeating and not seeing the right results, enough of not doing things on my usual hundred and ten percent. So if you are in the same position, don’t wait until Monday, or start of the new month, but just jump into the new challenge now. Because there will never be the right time and every day counts. Simple.

I had also my induction at school and am so excited. I met our course leader, the rest of my team I am in class with, got schedule and everything. They said it will be hard upcoming six weeks for us, full of new informations and knowledge. But I heard in it just feeling of new challenges and tasks I cannot wait for. Now I am going back in my memories, to primary school, to my high school, thinking about all the good times and how much I loved that.. Well apart from the primary school but let’s hope nobody will hate for being so active :D.

As it’s going to be pay day soon (who else is so excited) I’ve done also a wish list for this month – there is a budget and blow out version of it :D. I’d love to buy the Celine sunglasses which became so popular last year – you know, the flat frames? Then another pair from Chiquelle – try their website, they have amazing clothes. Also high waisted jeans – I’ll probably go for them to River Island as they are THE ONLY ONES which don’t stretch out – does it also drive you crazy, when the jeans are just loosing its shape? Also some nice bodysuit, fishnet tights, white trainers and leather leggings – piece which I was wearing all the time and now I really miss it. I will buy the leather look leggings in Calzedonia – I can tell you they have the best!
I also want to get some fabrics and maybe some trendy piece for spring, I”ll see today as we are going to the city with Daniil. Cannot wait for our day together:)

Guys, enjoy your weekend and for those of you who are working – do your best and work hard:D
xxx Lucie

PS: A little sneak peak into the outfit we’ve done this weekend!
